My mother has COPD, she is in rehab at the moment, and when she does anything physical her O2 levels go just below 88 when she begins and recovers to 92-95 a few minutes later. For example, walking down the hall it goes down she stops to rest and it goes back up a few minutes later and is fine. I have asked the respiratory therapist if this just indicates a temporary crisis and since she recovers she should be able to continue with her activity. He seems to think because it dips she needs to be on higher oxygen all the time and limit her activities. Am I right that once the dip goes back up, her ability to continue activities should continue.
