Any recommendations for a pulse-ox device that can continuously record my oxygen saturation levels during normal activity and exercise and which can alert me if my oxygen levels have dropped below a preset threshold (88). I have read that sunlight and motion are both issues for pulse-ox. I did buy one with a recording device (Contec cms50f) that works well when in bed, but fails when I am doing normal activities and walks, presumably due to motion. (I have covered up the sensor device when walking to avoid sunlight).
When I place on a finger pulse-ox after walking a bit, sometimes the spO2 number starts in the low to mid 80s and then climbs relatively quickly into the 90s. Is that telling me that my saturation is actually in the 80s when I am walking? Or the 90's? (And then the number might retreat some - does oxygen saturation change so quickly?)
I do not wear nail polish, have dark skin or any other factors that confound pulse-ox's. I would suspect, though I do not know for sure, that exercise and movement would strengthen both pulse and perfusion.
