I have concurrent diagnoses of pulmonary hypertension and stage 4 copd. Recently, my legs and feet have swollen to about twice their size and are very uncomfortable. I am scheduled for an echo cardiogram this coming week. And that echo will be compared with one I had about eight years ago as a baseline. That is when the pulmonary hypertension was discovered. My brand new pulmonologist referred me back to my primary caregiver, at least until the echo results are available. I was told to wear compression stockings, try to keep my legs/feet up and watch my salt intake. All that does help, but I just can't help but assume that this edema has to do with my heart. Does anyone have experiences with these sorts of things?
