About 5 years ago I had latent TB with pleural effusion.
Then about 3 years ago I had pneumonia
In that period I had CT scans and Xrays.
My last Xray was about 2 years ago.
I just had a xray last week,
The GP was terrible and didn't explain anything except the words inflated lung, and emphysema and I should wait for a letter for lung function. I just spent the weekend in a terrible state with my partner. Fearing the end, worrying about my kids.
I don't understand how the xrays changed in a few years, or maybe they didn't pick it up earlier?
I don't know severity, whether its a suggestion?
If it's happened relatively recent is there a chance I can reverse or halt progress if I have immediate treatment.
I so glad for this website. I felt so alone, and watching youtube didn't help.
I'm a 53yr old British born asian chinese man. I reasonably fit and I don't seem to have symptoms. Occasionally breathless but likely because I've been inactive for awhile.
My SPo2 is ok at 98.
I did a spirometry test at home and got 350. But I don't think I had good puff anyway. I'm 6ft1 13stone. Should I read much into a puff test?
I just don't understand, I guess latent TB did this, and the pneumonia didn't help. Seems COPD progress was all very sudden
I feel for everyone on this site and wish everyone the best. The anxiety is the killer here for me now. Trying to arrange another meeting with a different GP to get more info
