Hello everybody...new here with a few questions. About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 1 or mild COPD. During that time I managed my symptoms with Symbicort and a Salbutamol rescue inhaler. For about the last 6 months my symptoms have become a lot worse. 12 days ago I had and attack and my rescue inhaler didn't work after several applications. After a trip to the ER the doctor prescribed and antibiotic and Prednisone. The Prednisone 3 day dose worked wonders but after day 6 my symptoms came back but milder. Day 8, I had an attack while sitting down a cracked a rib I coughed so hard. That was on a Friday night and it happened again on Sunday. So, I ended up back at the ER and was prescribed with T-3s and a rec for an X-ray. The X-ray showed I had a cracked rib but my lungs were clear. Also, what I don't understand is my blood oxygen levels for both ER visits was 97 and 96... how can that be? I am now waiting to see a lung specialist in April and was wondering what I should ask him? Also, I have been begging for a CT scan and I am hoping to have one before my appointment... what will that show that an X-ray won't catch? I am also using a CPAP machine every night and was wondering if you guys have ever heard of anybody developing COPD from it. I admit, sometimes I have been lazy with my cleaning and discovered pink mold. Thanks for listening to my rant... any answers would be greatly appreciated.
