I was released from the hospital on December 4th after a bad lung infection. I was given powerful antibiotics and steroids by drip first 24 hours and doxy by mouth for 7 days.
Today the 18th Dec - Woke up with congestion and SOB. I coughed up yellow gunk. Shortly after it was light green. I took all my inhalers this morning and got on the nebulizer. I brought up some more green stuff. Yesterday I was fine. No wheezing or anything. Today there is some wheezing when breathing out. I have antibiotics on hand, but I'm always a bit reluctant to take them for fear of becoming resistant. I'm always thinking - Wait another day and see. Wait another day. Not to bad right now, I feel ok and my O2 is 94. Heart rate is around 78. Up a bit. Taking more ventolin. Took my Alvesco & Inspiolto. I think I'm going to have to take them.
Yesterday I was out and visited several places shopping. I always have disinfectant with for hands. Must have picked up a bug / virus. I have been doing everything I can to avoid the flu / infections. Lots of vitamins and extra vitamin-C, supplements and fluids.
I was going to the pharmacy today to pick up my Azithromycin. I was going to start that for 3 months on and then three months off. Doesn't look like I'm going to get a chance (right now) to give that a go. Arrgg .. Discouraged!
How do you handle these situations?
