Happy New Year! As we start a new year, we often start thinking about improving our health. It’s important to have the right tools in your “COPD toolbox” to help reach those important health goals. Let’s talk about some of the free COPD management tools the COPD Foundation offers. There is something for everyone in our collection!
One helpful tool is our CIRCLES workbook. If you’d like to learn how to manage your COPD symptoms, stay active, and avoid flare-ups, this booklet is for you! Inside, you’ll find activities, information, and flyers like the My COPD Action Plan, Medication and Immunization Wallet Card, and Tips for Living Well with COPD sheet. Fill out the My COPD Action Plan with your health care provider and follow it on good days and bad. And be sure to cut out the wallet card, fill it out, and carry it with you. But don’t forget to update it when your medications change.
And be sure to visit our Downloads Library for more useful tools. Here, you can find information on staying healthy and avoiding illnesses like pneumonia and COVID-19, quitting smoking, and preparing for emergencies and severe weather. It also features other booklets and flyers that can help you along your COPD journey. One of the most popular collections in our Downloads Library is the COPD Foundation Guides for Better Living booklet series. Each of these booklets cover a COPD-related topic, such as Coping with COPD, Exacerbations, Understanding COPD, and more. We recently added a new guide to this collection: COPD Treatment and Management. It explains different COPD treatments and offers tips on how to live well with COPD.
Have you added any new tools to your COPD toolbox for the new year? Have you visited our downloads library lately? Tell us all about it in the comments section and have a very happy and healthy 2023!
