I’m currently undecided about which is my favorite nebulizer.
I have two older Pari jet desktop compressors and nebulizers that have been very sturdy and reliable. An added benefit was they were relatively cheap—down to $35 after a coupon in CVS computer with NO insurance.
I also have a small mesh nebulizer I bought from a Taiwan company that used regular AA or AAA batteries unfortunately it died without warning and can no longer be used and the maker didn’t respond to my email it was inexpensive at about $40 too and about the size of a fist.
I also have a Pari Trek Portable Jet compressor with a nebulizer (the medicine cup & mouthpiece) that is about 1 pound and about the size of a paperback. I like that it’s small but like all compressors is loud and vibrates a lot. It cost nearly $200 but insurer paid a portion of it.
Also have a Monaghan compressor and AeroEclipse nebulizer that can be breath-actuated, so medicine is only released when you breathe in. Can’t remember the price of it offhand.
I also have 4 micro vapor pocket mesh nebulizers that are about the size of a cell phone. One unit is totally broken—medicine cup and base the other units appear to be working I like the very small size and faster nebulizing times and nearly silent operation. I don’t like that you have to clean with distilled water, since I don’t always have it on hand (like while traveling). I am also disappointed that one of the units totally doesn’t work—base and medicine cup. These cost $40-90 apiece and you need to replace medicine cups every 45 days. I like the low price, quiet operation and compact size. It has built in rechargeable battery.
Anyway, what different nebulizing systems do others have? What are the pros and cons?
