Hello everyone and thank you for your time.
I’m on a new account because I can’t recover my last one. My old name is happinesses.
I made 2 posts last year and received some great information so I’m back again for some more.
last year, I had an acute case of dyspnea. Went to the doctors with the issue. CT came back with mild emphysema so my PCP ordered a full PFT. Everything looked good (will post results in comments). Normal spirometry & normal diffusion. There was a non specific decrease in RV and RV/TLC (I have a feeling this is where my underlying problem is presenting). My PCP wasn’t concerned with that and started testing my heart. That also came back good.
The severe labored breathing lasted only a few days but I still felt horrible in the chest and felt like I wasn’t fully inhaling. That got better after 2 months but never got back to 100%.
Last week, I had en episode that lasted 2 days. My left lung felt like it couldn’t calibrate. I was having problems inhaling and exhaling. All of a sudden, it cleared up out of nowhere. I feel better but not 100%. Slightly worse off than I was right it. Does this sound like I’m having an exacerbation?
Sometimes moving positions makes me breathe better. Would this help someone with emphysema?
The difficulty fully inhaling more than it feels like it’s exhaling. Is that typical for emphysema?
I ask because I’m trying to see if my symptoms are consistent with emphysema as that’s the only thing that showed up in testing so far.
I have emphysema on CT but the good scores. Am I stage 0 progressing to stage 1?
Do you think between the PFT scores and symptoms match w emphysema? Especially how I can breathe better in certain positions.
thanks again. I know this wasn’t written the best way but I felt so much better talking to you all last time that I just want to get this out there, get some guidance, get to the bottom and ultimately get to treatment and on with my lif
