Wow, sounds like a new epidemic of COPD is on its way.
News continues about kids vaping and resulting in lung disease. On CNN today, Dr. Frank Leone, director of Penn Medicine's Comprehensive Smoking Treatment program (Penn Lung Center) was the guest speaker. They are seeing the acute problems, but don't yet know the long term effects. Inflammation seems the key, and scarring is a concern. The first symptom in the list on the TV screen was shortness of breath. This is NOT good news. Kids are invincible and impulsive, and don't "see" the long term effects of anything they do. It is just not on their radar. Vaping looks so cool, more than cigarettes in our youth. Such a siren song, and kids are such easy victims.
Speaking of this director in PA, if/when I move to PA, that sounds like a perfect place to get my second opinion and deeper knowledge of my case. My start seems the chest infection in July, but no fever or congestion. Just little frequent chest and back pains started, then light labored breathing sometimes. Strange to me.
