I feel like I'm in la la land.
Is it so unusual to need more o2 for exercise? I requested a slightly larger o2 cylinder to accommodate longer and more intense workouts. My pulmo was glad to order it. Then I got a call from his nurse that I needed to schedule a 6 minute walk test to document the need for increased o2, said it was required with the supplier. I talked with the supplier, if I can't document increased need, my insurance won't cover a larger tank. I will need a 6 mwt. This is where I lost it.
How is walking for 6 minutes on a level surface going to tell them how much o2 I need to workout for 90 minutes? I don't understand.
I refill my tanks at home, how does anyone know if I use more than one tank a day? And why do I have to justify it? I just wanted the extra 20-30 minutes of a slightly larger tank so I didn't have to change tanks just to get home from the gym. What a can of worms. I feel crazy over this.
