When I saw my pulmonologist a few days ago, I mentioned the excruciating muscle cramps I have all over my body, both day and night. He said that Symbicort was probably the culprit and that I should start taking quinine for them, either as tonic water or in pill form.
My research has indicated that the concentration of quinine in tonic water is so low that you'd have to drink a couple of gallons of it each day to get a therapeutic dose. Then I found that the use of quinine for muscle cramps has been seriously discouraged by the AMA since it can lead to severe complications with your blood.
A friend has suggested a daily spoonful of yellow mustard will help but I'm curious if anyone else has this problem or, more pressingly, whether anyone has found a way of preventing these cramps. They really, really HURT and aren't easy to get rid of once they occur.
