I was recently hospitalized with breathing issues and that's when I was told I have COPD. I was released on home oxygen and have been working to wean myself off of it for the past two weeks. My first appointment with a pulmonologist is next month. I'm currently at 1cc of oxygen (down from 5 in the hospital) and seem to be handling the reductions okay for the most part. I have noticed that after a bath or changing when I have to remove the oxygen for brief moments to dress, etc. that my oxygen will drop as low as 79 for a minute or so. It quickly goes back up to upper 90s, but it's frightening to see the number drop so low. Does anyone else experience this type of sudden drop after just a few moments without oxygen? My pulse rate was also low at the time (low 40s). Any help is appreciated as I know nothing about this disease yet.
