So, ive been posting on this site for a while. My latest diagnosis from an allergist/immunologist/asthma specialist is that i dont have copd, but severe allergic asthma. Started Xolair last year and the doc said my lung function had improved after 3 months of it. Anyway, had to stop treatment due to work schedule and seems i could tell the difference. Just started shots again recently. My allergy test last year showed im allergic to everything, trees, grass, pollen, dust mites, fungus, cats (have 2), etc. Scratch test suggested possible allergy to wheat and nuts too. I also had elevated ige. My fev1 and fvc seem to always be in normal range, sometimes without bronchodilator improvement, sometimes with it, and the ratio of the 2 has gone up and down. CT scans do not reveal "any significant lung disease". I only had 4 pack years of smoking history many years ago (well over 20) and was fine for many years after until quite recently. Any thoughts? Thank you.
