I was recently contacted by Jason Von Stein who told me about his father and his work to bring COPD awareness through music. The following are Jason’s words:
My father is a songwriter. Jim Von Stein has written over 5000 songs in his lifetime. He stills writes songs but suffers from emphysema. He cannot play through his songs now. The exertion of playing the guitar is too much for him. I play his songs out now. I share the performances with him via Facebook. He watches from home, in Tennessee. I’m in Atlanta. Last year, I decided to create a music video for one of his songs.
I was able to get the needed funding to create the music video ($1000). I released it on Christmas for my father and everyone...

I would love to be able to use my father's songs as a way to raise emphysema awareness. Music can bring people together like no other. Thank you for listening to his words. He is actually a better friend and father than songwriter. I've also attached the song he wrote for you. It's called "Let Me Breath"
