Can someone please help.
I have moderate emphysema and have, since diagnosis of the disease five years ago, attempted to live without medication. However my condition has worsened considerably following recent bouts of COVID and pneumonia and I am now using a Ventolin inhaler with spacer to alleviate acute episodes of breathlessness.
Whilst this does relieve SOB, I also experience egregious heart palpitations which often continue for more than four hours and often make me feel thoroughly ill.
It's precisely this kind of reaction that has kept me from using medication in the first place
May I please ask anyone currently using this dreadful stuff, is this a typical response and will I just have to grin and bare it - and is this dangerous?
Secondly, Is there a better, safer alternative to Ventolin as a reliever?
Thankyou so much ,
Eddie
