2006 After a PFT, I was diagnosed with mild COPD. Stupid me, kept smoking.
2013 diagnosed with moderate COPD. Got the results print out for both and drove myself crazy comparing the FVC, FEV1, lung volumes, and DLCO with other people who reported their numbers at this site and whether or not they were on oxygen. Then.....
2016 had another PFT and the tech told me the results were better than the 2013 test. The doctor said I had about 70 something lung function left. I don't have SOB, don't take inhalers, and not on oxygen. I didn't ask for the results print out because I didn't want to scare by obsessively comparing numbers.
Joined quitnet and I've been cutting back smoking. My quit day is Sept 1st.
I'm scheduled for another PFT Sept 10th and chest CT on Sept 11th. Then an appointment with a Pulmonologist for test results on Sept 16th.
I'm really scared and wondering what important numbers I should ask the Pulmonologist. I don't think I want another print out of all the results. I'm not certain of the exact meaning of all the numbers anyway...LOL. I know the meaning of some of the acronyms, but don't want to know the minute detail of every number, if that makes sense.. Thanks in advance.
