I had a cough going on in Dec last year which I saw a pulmonologist for in Feb, they advised me to stop smoking, I visited a pulmonologist again in Apr and since it had been more than 3 months with cough, I was given a diagnosis of chronic bronchitis (Spirometry was performed) and put on bronchodilator inhaler. I have been coughing since as I have been smoking on and off (more depressed because of the diagnosis) but not a lot of mucus (sometimes there is, which was rare though, currently no mucus) but definitely difficulty performing physical activity (rowing machine at the gym, have not tried since). I have not performed any more tests but cough goes on, using bronchodilator. What are some good tests for tracking the progression of the disease? Also, I am 34 and single, how does this affect my chances of dating, getting married etc.? I am worried and have had trouble quitting smoking completely. Please give me all the prognosis related information. Also, what about exercising? Life expectancy? Holding down a job (currently unemployed)? Is it considered a disability?
