hi I have a question that I can’t find any update information on and the groups online that I’m on are all saying different advice so I’m coming to you lot if that is okay?
as you know from my previous post I’ve been having some breathing issues with tightness and failed a spirometer test but didn’t do the reversibility test with it.
All inhalers I’ve tried caused me issues from a tighter chest, menthol feeling, burning sensation, stomach ache, dizziness, headaches, constant runny nose, the list goes on !!!
now I got told to stop the clenil modulite 100 inhaler as I was experiencing menthol and burning sensation and chest pains and a heart rate of 159bpm and cardiologist told me to go to a&e for tests (suspected heart attack) ecg came back syncope tachycardia, bloods clear no infection, 2nd xray since December came back clear of any scarring, no sign of infection, no sign of irritation, no signs of copd (yet if I have it). Got told possibly stomach issues and to go to gp.
So started taking lansoprazole a week ago on stopping the inhalers as requested by my nurse and suggested by hospital but only on nurses orders and found out that my breathing has slightly improved but the tightness is still there.
So I went to the gp yesterday about the hospital trip and about the burning and menthol sensation and he asked if I had other symptoms which are :- stomach ache everyday, burping, burning and menthol sensations of the the lower throat and behind sternum, menthol/burning feeling when breathing, clearing of throat as it feels like a lump or something there, pain after eating. He said straight away reflux and asked for a sample for h pylori and has referred me for a scope, I asked if this could be a reason for the breathlessness and he said I don’t know, that’s a question for the nurse.
so I’m sat wondering if I’ve had these issues longer and it’s been 3 months of me using inhalers and complaining of this menthol feeling and burning if I’ve had reflux all along and it’s effected my spirometer test in January and that’s why no inhaler is working and they have given a suspected copd or suspected asthma diagnosis?
My breathing has become better over the last week but just wanted some insight from others seems my dr couldn’t give me it and online is dangerous to research as I find you do that then your supposed to be gone and 6 foot under within 10 minutes of google research.
Any advice or information is much appreciated and I hope to hear from you soon.
kind regards a confused and concerned wheezer Laura xx
