After having some different conversations on this topic, I'd love to have your input. My mom has been on hospice for about a year, and it has been fabulous for her and my family. We don't have much in the way of palliative care where she lives - or we would have done that first.
I am trying to break the negative mold and help encourage people to go ahead and have what will likely be a hard, but needed conversation before you *have* to have it like we did.
1) Do you personally know the difference between palliative and hospice care?
2) What are your thoughts positive and negative regarding hospice?
3) What are some things that might keep someone from signing up for this type of program?
4) Would you rather have the discussion with your doctor, rather than family?
I'd love to hear your thoughts about this, if you are willing to share...
