I have a couple of questions regarding Oximeter readings. New to this, so the questions may appear elementary.
1) I have a Zacurate Pulse Oximeter 500L. My doctor wants me to take readings while I am exercising. The manual on this says that you could get inaccurate readings if there is too much movement. Not sure how you're supposed to wear something on your finger while exercising and not move your hand ???
2) Leads to the next question. I wore it while walking outside yesterday and the day before. Started out with readings consistently at between 95 and 98 for the first half mile or so. It was very hot, humid, and sunny. Then the readings dropped to 85, then 80, then in the high 70"s. I stopped for a minute or so and did some pursed breathing and it jumped back up to the mid 90's and stayed there for a while and then went back down and came back up again. I don't think that it's a problem with the oximeter, because I used it on the treadmill for a .9 mi, avg. 3.5 mph walk and it stayed at around 96/97 with no variation. So I'm trying to figure out whether I have a new problem, or the inconsistent readings are a by-product of being outside.
Any input on either or these would be appreciated.
