Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is able to enjoy the last weekend of the summer season, it's beautiful here in NC!
A month ago I received the results of my PFT, my FEV1 was at 63% predicted, moderate obstruction with partial reversibility. When I asked my Dr if I had COPD, she said possibly. I do have moderate persistent asthma. But I don't understand the "possibly COPD." I think the report stated "...an element of COPD." Can anyone tell me what this means?
This evening, I found I was becoming increasingly short of breath and my chest was very tight, so I used my rescue inhaler. Lots better! But I happened to glance at the pulse rate on my oximeter, it was going down, and finally got to 56 before it started to go back up, and then it went down again to high 50s. It's normally around 78-82. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?
My Dr also suggested that I might benefit from adding Spiriva to further help with symptoms. I don't look forward to adding another med...
Thanks for all your help and advice!
