I started having trouble August 2015 with irritants, air fresheners, soaps, outside air , you name it, it bring on bronchial spasms. I was working 39 hours a week having coughing but managing until August. Never have smoked, family didn't smoke. The doctor or emergency room wouldn't put me in hospital because my lungs were clear. Had bronchial spasms with almost any smell or irritants. They said insurance would not let them out me in because it was not life threatening. All though I coughed so much fractured my rib, in doctors office many many times, in e r 4 times in two different hospitals. October 1 st until still now have no voice, throat feels swollen, chest bronchial is tight, cough has never gone away, trouble breathing. From August 2015 threw October 26th when I was finally diagnosed with stage three copd , I suffered so much. If they could of put me in hospital and "detoxed" my irritants- allergies and properly nebulized, maybe I would not be so bad. Before September I had only had one inhaler 10 years ago, yes ten years. Now this. What am I supposed to do now. I have to work 20 hours a week to keep my union work insurance. I've not worked for almost two months now. I'm a homecare aid for elderly. Clean with dust, chemicals, animals, shop for them, take to doctor, bathe them. Even cooking irritates my bronchial spasms.
What now?
