hello everyone. I am trying to improve my FEV1. I’m a 75 year old man and weigh 135lbs. No. I’m not in good shape because I have fallen into the couch trap. I need to get going.
I get very SOB with just average household chores but can maintain 92-94 resting. If I change the bedding my sats may go to the low 80’s. I recover quickly but feel awful for a couple of minutes.
My last spirometry test showed 23% FEV1. It was 50% five years prior.
Gave up cigarettes in 2016. I know I don’t get the exercise I should. Party due to the SOB when I do. I’m impatient so I want progress now. I know. That’s bad.
Everything I read shows much success with intense aerobic exercise. That’s all they say. So what is that? I’m going with jumping jacks. I did two sets of 10 tonight and didn’t die. I’m keeping a diary of all my activity and my spo2 afterwards.
