My grandmother was diagnosed with emphysema in her 50’s, after she had already been smoking for 40 years. She kept on smoking for another 20 years. The only treatment they had for her in the late 90’s and early 2000’s was prednisone in a pill, which gave her osteoporosis, and a nebulizer. She passed away at 79. Are there more treatments out there now in the 2020’s that can provide a longer life, and a quality of life better than laying in a bed for months at a time
