I was recently diagnosed with emphysema and COPD. I was surprised...I had bronchitis in October and pneumonia in December. but was also going through a stressful time as I was taking care of my elderly father who was on Hospice and dying. I actually read my report from the CAT scan before I talked to my doctor...technology..ha..love it. To make a long story short, I am seeing a pulmonologist who prescribed me Incruse Ellipta once daily. He also said to continue to use my rescue inhaler as needed. I actually feel my breathing is worse than before I started the Incruse. I'm using my rescue inhaler about 5-6 times a day because I feel like I'm sucking my breath through a straw:( Is this my new normal? My pulmonologist said he could get me back to 70% lung function with proper medications. I still walk a mile a day on my treadmill and can do most everything I have done in the past...except climb hills/mountains. Up until 5 months ago, I had no clue this was happening. I assumed I had a bad cold and when that was cleared up, I would be fine. So...shocked describes me right now.
