...I would appreciate anyone's experience. I was using the only available silicone tubing in the US for a couple years. It was great until it became a problem. They are made in China and are peroxide based. Medical grade silicone is either peroxide based or platinum based when manufactured. ( Medical in-dwelling devises must be platinum only.) Their stock was getting old(4 years old before I complained), quality control may not have been carefully watched and/or my breathing chemistry has changed and the peroxide type silicone is reacting. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I recently reordered their new stock and they aren't working out for me.
Going back to vinyl cannulas is making me SOB and inflaming my sinuses. I've noticed that so many of the vinyl "soft" cannulas are added cheap Chinese silicone which makes it impossible to remove the off-gassing horrible smell.
If this is an issue with others I beg you to online complain to the FDA under medical devices not meds. They have let all of us down including children. We deserve better choices.
If anyone is interest I did find a US company making straight tubing. It was easy for my husband to make connector ends. Please ask I'll post a link.
