My father aged 65 is experiencing an acute exacerbation from yesterday. I don't understand why, may be because of some lung infection. His Saturation (Spo2) is around 75% on supplemental oxygen and on air it reduces to 55%. The doctor diagnosed Cyanosis also, as visible from his bluish lips and finger tips. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and anti allergic medicine plus Salbutamol.

Kindly let me know how to prevent such exacerbation in future and what precautions to take to handle such an exacerbation.

To inform you, the outside weather is cool and it remains below zero during the night but inside our home the temperature remains around 15 degrees Celsius.
