As I describe earlier this week, on a couple times I was experiencing SOB, yet my O2 > 98%!
It happened again this morning, then I noted {my new Wellue adds PI on the iPhone app} PI around 1 - 2; when SOB. Further Last night my O2 = 95%, PI = 6% and breathing normal, or no smothering feeling. Further I can significantly increase PI from 1% to 6% w/PLB temporally. That is short lived. A google search says:
"The normal perfusion index (PI) ranges from 0.02% to 20% showing weak to strong pulse
strength. How accurate is it? You can never say that your oximeter is
100% accurate. It can show a 2% over or 2% under due to your arterial
blood gas or mechanical fault.

So it appears when my O2% > 98, and SOB, and PI very low, that my pulse is very weak. Which for me come and goes. /ed
