Hello I am seeing a pulmonologist for this first time Monday ..I am petrified and confused . I am 55 and I quit smoking 8 years ago . My breathing has always been great . About 3 months I had what I thought to be a panic attack I could not breathe . I went to the hospital and my BP was 260 . Of course my dr put me on BP meds . I thought that was the end of it but the shortness of breath never went away . I never get sick but I got a sinus infection and then a virus . I first went to an ENT where he think I may have Gerd ..Long story short my Primary care Dr sent me for a chest xray and a ct scan ,,Both clear . But my breathing feels awful . No cough. So she is sending me for a PFT ..I don't feel its something I am going to do well on . The shortness of breath is not as bad as, it was but more of a feeling I have to force mucus up . ..I began to have these problem the day I thought I was having a panic attack Does this sound like COPD..Glad I found this site
