Hi everyone 🙂 I just 1) wanted to say I'm Grateful to have found this group & 2) Introduce myself & 3) ask y'all some things, if that's okay? My name is Summer, I am 47 now. Female & diagnosed with COPD in March of 2012, via spyro test & X-rays & then CT scan. I have been smoking a pack a day starting at 10 years old. There have been x's when I easily smoked 2-3 packs a day. I am still having issues accepting my diagnosis, although I DO wheeze, MOSTLY when laying down to sleep. Like, during the day, yeah, I wheeze but NOTHING like at bedtime! I have prescriptions (most from 2012) for Advair & some other one. But I Rarely take them. I'm afraid. My PCP just prescribed me a new inhaler but I can't recall the name as I haven't picked it up yet. I definitely get SOB at X's, but it's very random. I'm unable to exercise at all due to severe neck/back issues. I read a lot of posts RE oxygen tanks, hospital stays, etc. & this TERRIFIES me! Yesterday, I saw my Dr. He seemed Very concerned my WORST issues with breathing are mostly when laying down. So Sorry so Long! I guess I wish to know if anyone thinks I have been diagnosed incorrectly?? I sadly am Still smoking. Is this just me WISHING the Dr that diagnosed me was Wrong? Did any of you experience this " in denial" phase? I don't even know all my "stats" -- all I know is my PCP Told me that out of ALL those tests, I "beat out" my non-smoking peers by 35% EXCEPT in One area-- and naturally, I forgot which area! Again, so Sorry this is SO LONG! I have a non-smoking BF that believes yelling at me to quit helps me to do so. Thanks for Listening! 😊, Summe
