Hello. A radiologist just stated that on my ct scan she found Paraseptal emphysematous change left upper lobe posteriorly. I was just following up on a lung nodule which did dissapear.
I am 60 and stopped smoking when I was 34.
Going to Penn University to a pulmonologist I saw a couple of years ago. Can't get in till July 28 so I'm trying nit to freak out.
I had a ct scan done 6 minths ago with no emphysema. I have had numerous ct scans often without this finding.
I have had asthma since I was 5. I had my first pneumonia at 42 and almost died of sepsis. I had to have a total blood transfusion. Then I've had pneumonia every year since then. Lots if nodules coming and going.
In 2019 I was in hospital in Feb with pneumonia and March with infuenz a and pneumonia.
Finally, infectious disease got on board and I was diagnised with Common Variable Immune Deficiency. I don't make many antibodies. I'm now on immunoglobulin infusions every 3 weeks - other people's antibodies to make this more understandable.
In 2020 and again in 2021 I got Aspergillus fungus in my lungs and was sick for two years with it. This fungus is all around us and everyone breathes it in everyday but my immune system couldnt fight it off like everyone else's.
After iv antifungal treatment I no longer have it. I take posaconazole, an antifungal everyday as a preventative.
In my ct scans problems have been misdiagnosed because the fungal infections made changes to my lungs like scarring and thickening and other things.
Have any if you heard of Aspergillus infection in the lungs? I'm wondering if the radiologist made a mistake again. Have any of you had a radiologist misdiagnos a lung ct scan?
Im well aware that I may be in denial. I'm changing my health status now. Losing weight. Eating properly, excersising daily, etc. I will accept the diagnosis if it is true.
Thanks for listening!
