Hello, I am 51 yrs old. Smoked on and off for 30 + years and switched to vaping last year. I decided to get a lung cancer ct screening. Nodules were found, but said less than 1 percent chance of malignancy follow up in 12 months. But the incidental findings were background mild centiblobilar emphysema and the bioptical perseptal (sorry, I know I spelled that wrong), emphysemic changes with firbronodular scarring and my lungs showed hyperinflation. Nobody called me related to this. I call my primary who ordered the test, go in yesterday and she said she was just looking at them and cares more about the nodulea. I kept asking, what about the other. She asked, do you cough, do you have shortness of breath, do you have mucous.... I said no to all.... but after I left, I thought about it, I am way less active since COVID... so I went for a hilly walk and no SOB, but my heart rate was 145. No today, I cant eat, think, am so freaked out. I did get an appt with a pulmnologist but it is to assess if a pft is needed... i talked with the nurse that manages the lung cancer screening program and told her my primary wanted me followed up on....she said, it sais 12 months for the nodules, and your stuff says mild... you quit smoking and do not have any problems so there is no reason to see you. When I talked with the nurse manager at the pulmonlogy she got me right in....but nobody is telling me a thing or even concerned with the incidentil findings. I however am asking myself...wait, am I breathing harder than I used to.... are those pangs in the chest in the past not anxiety.... AM I dead girl walking? I have been all over the internet and see different things. I came here and see people living a long life. I just want to know if it is that, which it is.... what am a facing.
