I exercise usually everyday, doing Bikram yoga at home for an hour or more, without heat. This means I hold a pose for 30 seconds or more. My problem is that my heart beats rapidly so I’ve increased the resting times between poses to 60 seconds. As I am very tense, the benefits are more “movement” than typical relaxation. I keep doing it as it has been enormously helpful with my depression. I cannot walk, in the park, with a mask, as I am still recovering from foot surgery from last year.
Can anyone tell me if this effect on my heart is normal for a former smoker of 50 years?
the two pulmonologists I consulted have little information about either breathing exercises (which I learned from this site, G-d bless) or exercises. Yes, I will look for a more proactive Pulmonologist, but I would appreciate this group’s comments & suggestions. My diagnosis is mild to moderate emphysema. Thank you all for any suggestions you can offer. Elana
are you allowed to suggest a Pulmonary Group here in first,,South New Jersey, or second, Philadelphia? Thank you again
