My mom has stage 4 COPD and is now under hospice care at home. She's doing ok but I was hoping to get suggestions for certain items that can make day to day living easier. We've purchased a comfortable chair with lift as well as an adjustable frame bed (in lieu of a hospital bed). Looking for recommendations for the following items. Any suggestions / advice is greatly appreciated.
1. Shower chair (hospice has provided one but I assume there is a far better one out there that is possibly collapsible to put to the side when not being used and/or has a seat that swivels)
2. Shower step / slip mat (something to help step into the shower. It's a large stall shower so its a not a big step but any help would be great for her)
3. Toilet/bedside commode (she currently has the raised seat in two bathrooms and a full bedside toilet provided by the hospice place. Any higher end / better options?)
4. Comfortable dining chair / bar height chair. (She spends a lot of time sitting at the counter and bar area but the chairs are not very comfortable. Perhaps someone has purchased / uses something they'd recommend)
5. Patio chair (Something comfortable for outside; easy to get in and out of / relax)
6. Misc - any other items you've found useful / great for day to day living / comfort.
Thanks so much.
