My mom was diagnosed with copd about 8 years ago, she is currently 63 years old. In November she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. While there, the hospital staff felt that she should go on hospice. At first she was reluctant because she didnt think she would need it or qualify. But she has now been on it for about 2 months and ro me there has definitly been a decline. What should I expect going forward? Her hospice nurse has discussed things with me, but I still feel lost. She is currently only about 60lbs and I feel like the end is closer then people are letting on. I just want to be as prepared as possible because I have 7 kids living with me as well as taking care of her daily. Any advice or information is welcome. Thank you.
