Hi everyone, first time posting.
13 years ago, when I was 29, I had a bad case of chronic bronchitis, I could barely breathe that day do the doctor performed a spirometric test and told me I had COPD and should quit smoking. I tried but failed.
In 2016, I had another spirometric test to see if I could go scuba diving. I was still a smoker and had another bed case of bronchitis that day. The test results still indicated COPD.
When I spoke to the doctor about my results, I told her that each time I had quit smoking, the bronchitis disappeared. She said that it was possible that I didn't have COPD. I definitely don't have allergies do I don't know what else it could be.
I have finally quit smoking in 2017 and haven't had bronchitis since. I usually get it every 3 months.
I know I need to get more testing done but I've been in denial. Do you guys think it is possible to have chronic bronchitis without having COPD?
All my symptoms seem to point to COPD but I like being in denial...
