I was diagnosed with moderate COPD in 2016 with spirometry test. Had cold in 2017 with some shortness of breath but took meds and was fine. Have had NO colds, etc or breathing problems since then and have never had to use inhaler or other meds. My last spirometry test in 2019 FEV1 was 91. The doctor said I still have moderate COPD. So after all these years I got a sinus infection and allergy problem. Got short of breath and made my primary give me a Z-pack and steroid pills. He told me I was getting pneumonia. I'm confused. Stopped smoking when diagnosed and haven't had one problem in 5 years. Can anyone give me feedback? Can you have moderate COPD and never have a problem. Does this count as an exacerbation?
