Hi everyone I was diagnosed via a CT with mild emphysema I saw a plumologist who advised don’t smoke anymore and you will never know you have it and will never get any symptoms.
I don’t believe him as it just seems to straight forward to just quit smoking and you will never experience the effect of having emphysema.
I did my spirometry test and came back as follows
Fev1 85%
Fvc 85%
Fev1%VCmax 102%
MMEF 74%
PEF 109%
DLCO 110%
KCO 110%
VA 85%
VC IN 83%
My understanding from Dr Google is FEV1 80% and over is NO COPD
DLCO is the gas exchange (which looks good)
and all the rest I have no idea what they mean.
If anyone can please let me know if they believe the plymologist or should I get more opinions as I have also had 5 X GP’s look at the results and say I don’t have COPD but I know I do as they CT scan showed mild emphysema.
thank you and sorry for the long explanation any feedback would be very helpful.
