Hi all,
I was diagnosed with early stage emphysema when I was 30, I’m 37 almost 38 now, I really had no clue what emphysema was when I was diagnosed, my doctor said if I quit smoking I should be fine, I had no clue it was progressive or how serious it was or could become, so for 5 years I cut back and or quit than start again than quit, a bunch of just attempts but never really smoked a lot, once I kinda did some research, It scared the crap out of me and I quit instantly, I haven’t smoked since, nor will I ever again, my lungs seem to be just fine though, I play hockey 3 times a week I exercise atleast 4 times a week, and I’m able to get good deep breaths, I’m just frightened on the longevity I’ll have in life, and when it will start to really affect me, I want to be able to be active in retirement (65), is this possible?
