I liked the old Combivent and hated it when the VA discontinued it but I grew to like the albuterol inhaler paired up with the atrovent inhaler. Couldn't tolerate any of those inhalers that had the steroids combined, like Advair and Symbicort. Matter of fact I can't tolerate inhaled steroids period. Anyway, the VA quit carrying Atrovent a few months ago and I was just about in a panic. They replaced it with Combivent Respimat. It combined the same two drugs, Ok, I can handle this, I thought. But, it's different somehow. I don't get the same respiratory relief that I used to get. I did a DuoNeb last night at 11:20 before I went to bed, figured that would last the rest of the night so I didn't do a Combivent. I woke up at 3am thanks to one of the family pets wanting to be fed. I was a little short winded anyway and it was way past time for a combivent inhalation. The only thing in my system was duoneb so I diid the one inhalation of combivent. Ten minutes later I was really breathing hard. I have been using this for the last couple of momths and I just haven't been thrilled with it. Anyone else having problems with combivent respimat?
