Is it possible to have chronic bronchitis that has not progressed to COPD? I see several sources refer to “COPD Stage-0” where chronic bronchitis is present, yet there are no indications of breathing obstruction(s) or other issues.
My pulmo has diagnosed me with adult onset asthma (I am closing in on 60). My lingering symptom is seemingly endless throat clearing in varying degrees. The volume of mucus is low, it’s white and very sticky … and can take some effort to move. My recent spirometry results seem good: FEV1 - 119% and FVC - 124%. I’m not experiencing SOB or other breathing issues (but do force myself to cough at times) and despite his diagnosis, chronic bronchitis seems possible to me because of the ongoing mucus issue. Thoughts?
