Hello. I'm super new to this group and I'm wondering if anyone shares my experience or has any insight. About a year and a half ago, I started to feel tightness across my upper back and deep inside my chest when I would wake up in the morning. It has gotten progressively worse where now when I wake up my entire chest is very tight and fairly painful, and it hurts to breathe deeply. It takes a bit to go away after I get up, but it does go away for the most part. I find that this happens if i take a nap also during the day. Any time I'm laying down for a considerable amount of time. I don't feel it at all when going to sleep, and for now, my sleep isn't interrupted too often, but occasionally it is. I find I'm having nightmares about choking or not being able to breathe, probably because of the discomfort I'm feeling. I'm afraid because it's really getting worse and worse as time goes on. The weird thing is, i had hernia surgery last year, and for a couple of weeks after, the symptoms went away. The surgery was laproscopic. Wondering if maybe air was forced into my lungs during surgery???
Anyway, I'm looking for anyone that has had the same experience or any insights you may have. Thank you.
