Around 3 or 4 weeks ago I got a chest infection. I have a plan where I can go to the Pharmacy and get meds to have on hand. I am about 1 hour's drive from the nearest (small town) hospital.
I am 64 and I smoked a lot for many years - hard.
I am not on O2. My lung capacity is 43%. .. I was bit congested when I had that last test.
I am struggling again with another lung infection. I really don't think I got totally rid of it a few weeks ago. I've had a lot of trouble trying to defeat infections. Right at this moment my O2 is 90/91. My BP can get up sometimes. Heart rate is usually around 80/120. I'm struggling. I am on a nebulizer (Salbutamo-5mg-nebs) like 6 / 7 times a day right now. I get right off the nebulizer and start using an Aerobika. Also harmonica. I try and it get it up, but I also get sore and tired. Also have fluid - feet & legs.
I've been on about all the weaker antibiotics and they just don't work. I was alternating between Doxycyline Hyclate 100mg and Cefuroxime Axetil 500mg. They stopped working. Right now, I'm alternating between Amoxicillin & Clavulanic Acid (875 / 100) and Clarithromycin 500mg - This seems to work ok, but I've only I've only taken it once - about 3 weeks ago. Also Prednisone - 50mg.
Inhalers:
Ventolin 100 mcg - As required.
Inspiolto / Respimat 2.5 mcg - 2 puffs daily
Alvesco 200 mcg - 2 puffs daily.
New here .. This is my first post.
I have a family doctor who I see quite often. He has setup the arrangement with me getting my meds from the pharmacy with having to see a doctor. I am diagnosed as copd some emphysema, I've had issues when young chronic bronchitis.
My doctor is worried that I panic (attacks) and tend to take the antibiotics to often. I am usually coughing up green chunky stuff, struggling and wheezing to beet the band, before taking meds.
Sorry about the book!
