Hello, COPD360Social Community!
I'm excited to join this group that helps to build communities and educate people living with COPD. I'm Jonnie Korinko, the new Manager of Public and Professional Education at the COPD Foundation. I'll be talking with people in this community and sharing easy-to-understand tips and information that can help make their lives better.
As a registered respiratory therapist (RRT), I worked in many areas before joining the COPD Foundation. I started at a big hospital where I learned how to treat lung diseases. Then, I worked at a smaller hospital where I got to know the local community better and, while there, I helped with training and acted as a COPD Navigator. That means I helped people with COPD get what they needed, like medicine and supplies, to get better after they left the hospital. After that, I became a teacher at a local college where I trained people to become respiratory therapists.
I joined the COPD Foundation because I wanted to support those in the COPD community. As a COPD Navigator, I enjoyed sharing information that helped the lives of the people in my community. Working with the COPD Foundation allows me to reach out to more people living with chronic lung diseases and help them as well.
Now that you know a little about me, I would love to hear from you! Please share great things that you have learned here and anything else that you would like to hear more about.
Thank you for welcoming me to the COPD community. I look forward to meeting each of you, learning how I can help, and growing together.
