New to this, I have just been told on Monday that I have COPD. All started by having a restless night difficulty breathing and tightness in chest and did not get better as the day moved on, finally decided at 5 PM to go to the ER. I'm 60 and have exercised induced asthma and have smoked (quit 6 weeks ago) Anyways at the ER they did an EKG and blood work then after a few hours another EKG more blood work and a chest x-ray, told me the EKG was good but by the x-ray I had small collapses? in my lung(s) and COPD, they were going to set up an apt with an Internist for a stress test, The ER Dr put me on symbicort and told me to use my salbutamol as needed. I see my GP in 5 days. I'm kinda lost on how I should proceed what I should ask ect. The symbicort has worked but I can still be short of breath I have taken it a total of 2 puffs twice a day for a total of 2 days and used salbutamol as needed (which is more then ever before) Any thoughts would be appreciated
