1 month follow-up after start of Trelegy.
Fev1 - 1st was 40's after sitting in the waiting room 45 minutes filled with perfumed people (my asthma trigger). Of course the test was bad. 2nd a week later was better at 51. Today a month later was 60. He feels that has no tight relation to the air transfer test (with helium), which was 22%. Sounds awful, and what I read on the internet is awful. But apparently I have enough lung and I breath deep with abdomen. The test made a noise that startled me and I hiccuped, so bet it is better than that. The oximeter continues at 98, he says I am getting the oxygen I need, my CO2 blood test is in range, he'd like it a bit lower than it is. He doesn't think anything to gain by a ct scan, just see holes in lung and is detail not needed beyond the several tests he did.
Of note, I have no SOB except with infection when I saw him initially, he said it might not be felt but can be there. I know extremes in weather are not good.
Symptoms and tests point more to asthma and emphysema, not chronic bronchitis. The x-ray shows normal lungs, so hasn't progressed that far. Don't understand then that air transfer test of 22%.
He can't say how this will progress, but doesn't think it will get much better, it could. But keep on the Trelegy with the thought to stay at 60%. May progress slowly downward, or not. No need for oxygen or pulmonary rehab (I do formal exercise). He doesn't seem to see that in my (near) future, so that is good news.
