Hi, im sorry if this sounds crazy to most, as im sure it may.
I quit smoking 2 weeks ago. For the last 4 years ive only smoked a half pack a day, but it was about a pack a day years previous. Im 41 female. I run at least 2 miles a day & at least once a week i run 5-6 miles consecutively.
I thought it would be a good idea to research smoking related illnesses to keep from caving. It has caused me to over evaluate my breathing and now im affraid i may have COPD. I know only a lung function test can diagnose this. However, my annual isnt until January & im fearful to go in early to be honest.
I dont know if its the anxiety or quit related symptoms but if im just doing nothing i feel like my chest is a little uncomfortable and im shallow breathing. I dont have any issues when im running.
I dont have a cough except occasional need to clear my throat, however if i make myself cough sometimes it sounds a little high pitched.
What are the symptoms i should be looking for that would suggest a need for an immediate appointment. I appreciate your time.
