Is a yearly decrease of 1% in the FEV1/FVC ratio considered normal? I have had four pulmonary function tests in the past four years, and on each test, the ratio is 1% lower than the year before, consecutively. At this rate, if the linear pattern from the past four years continues, I won’t have very many years left until my ratio drops below .70. What does it mean to have a yearly 1% decrease in this ratio? Would anyone be willing to share what their average decrease is? I was reading that the average rate of decline is .32% per year. Is this accurate?
