I am 27 years old and smoked for 8 years with an average of 2-3 cigarettes per day. I quit around 4 months ago.
After a month, I had a nagging cough which persisted for almost two months. Earlier the cough was only when I used to go out but then it became constant throughout the day. After two months of coughing, I developed wheezing from one side of the nose and occasional feeling of cramped chest.
The problem is that the wheezing sound is coming only while inhaling and from one nostril only and that nostril is flaring when I breathe in. If I close it, the sound is gone or even if I just touch it and hold it, the wheezing sound is gone. Actually, it's not even a wheezing sound. It's like a sound of a whistle blowed at low speed and I can hear it all the time and at rest . But the breathing is causing a pain in my chest. Breathing out is normal.
Is this normal wheezing like in asthma or I am starting to think something is wrong with my nostril?
